sorry, but this is wrong. Here in Western Europe (but I don't see
why things should be radically different in Australia), child sex
abusers are equally male or female, the only difference being in
the media coverage (female child abusers seems to be still a
politically uncorrect topic, and media are still reluctant to cover it).
Here in France, there's presently a huge trial about child abuse and
child prostitution involving dozens of adults (67 AFAIR) and half
of them are women, including the mothers of the abused children...

I'm afraid this is worse than cheap psychology : I entered school when
I was 2.5 years old and AFAIR all my teachers until 9 were women, and
that didn't hinder me from starting SDIY circa 17, even if I had no
background in electronics, and to become a coder even if my math level
in high school was very low (and all college teachers used to repeat that
only math genius could find a job as computer programer)...
There are plenty of wrong and cheap clichés floating around these days,
like children adopted by homosexual couples to have more risks of
becoming neurotic when growing adults...
