Another point... it is possible to design for both lower cost AND higher
performance. You just have to make the commitment to do so.

The problem is, it's comes out of *someone else's budget or P/L center*!

Adding bypass caps is a R&D 'expense', but field returns, etc was a Radio Shack 
expense so did Tandy care? HAHAHAHA!

This sort of thinking is why Tandy went toilet-time and Microsoft is printing 
money. Bill Gates understood if you give the geeks toys and let them play, they 
will make you rich. Coolers of free burritos and a few volleyball courts went a 
LONG WAY in returns.
