[sdiy] continuously variable swing

so the sequencer would set individual swing per step? wouldn't this method
make your sequence length all wonky? i'm assuming the cv would speed up and
slow down the clock on a step by step basis.

my aim is to get a steady clock that's a constant tempo, simply shifting
every other step forward or backward in time. then i could jam on the swing
live to dynamically change the feel without altering the tempo.

my only idea so far is to have a half speed clock triggering a one shot for
the inbetween steps, then mix the clock and one shot together. the one shot
length would be adjusted by the swing pot.

if possible i'd like to drop this in as a replacement for the existing tempo
clock in the 707, preferably retaining midi/din clock out.

now that i think about it, the tempo clock has to be faster than 16th notes.
maybe there's a way to do this using clock dividers? maybe the existing
clock isn't fast enough to allow for fine swing adjustments though.

any thoughts?

thanks,
greg
