[sdiy] NAND Gates / Digital Logic

Are there any cool and preferably simple synth circuits that involve NAND 
gates?  So far I've found an ARP ring modulator that uses just two NAND 
gates.  I know about using a flipflop to create a suboctave, but what sort 
of other uses does digital logic have in the world of modular synths?
