For years I've threatened to remarket an RF cable product just for
high end audio speakers. I had in mind something like Andrew HJ7-50A
(see the web site below, look it up in their Catalog 38 pdf files).
In short, it's big: 1 5/8" in diameter. Its attenuation is only
.02dB per 100 feet at 1MHz (they don't even bother to spec it in the
audio range). It will handle power...243,000 watts, average, at
500KHz (again, no audio frequency spec).
I wanted to have it specially manufactured with a clear PVC jacket,
and gold plated fittings on the ends, with straps that get you to amp
and speaker connections. Since it is a coaxial "air" dielectric
cable, you could also sell exotic gasses to pressurize it with, each
with a different "sound" quality. Helium for the lighter high end,
argon for deeper bass, nitrogen for dryer response...you get the
idea. And you'd sell installation services too. I've acctually used
the stuff for it's intended use, not the simplest to deal with.
Only one thing has stopped me from doing this, for the last 30 years.
Honesty.

Take a look at their catalog pdf file, 560.pdf. You gotta see this
"speaker wire"!
Anyone else recall the professional power amps that brought out a
feedback input so you could include your speaker cable within the
amp's feedback loop and comp out the cable completely? It was a cool
idea, and worked just fine. It just didn't sell wire.
