I (probably covered by computer idiot :-) ) used to call it
a Centronics INTERFACE, not connector, i think thats more
correct.
To keep things on topic :
But then again A LOT of people i know (everybody ?), call it
a MIDI In (out ...) connector, that would be wrong too, its
a 5 pin DIN connecter, but a MID(I) interface.
There are lot's of other cases where a physical connector is
wrongly reffered to by the name of the electronic / electric
interface it implements.
But who's a nit picker :-)
