I used to have a boss that kept a pair of those, strictly for the 
bolt-cutter feature. They really were lousy at crimping lugs. I have 
literally squeezed those cheap crimpers till my hands were bruised, and I 
still had problems with the lugs pulling off the wires!

I much prefer the Klein model 1005 crimpers, for ring and spade lugs. Since 
I got those, I have no more bruised hands, and I don't have any lugs which 
slip off the wires.

As for cutting screws neatly, that's one of the tasks I use my Dremel for.
