You make it sound like popcorn noise is "musical smallpox", and is it's 
playing with fire to try to make some of it available to the public.  ;)

Yes, somewhere in an underground military research facility, National 
Semiconductor is keeping the last remaining samples of popcorn 
noise--purely for defensive research purposes, of course.  :)
