You say that, as if analog synths were extinct!  ;)

I hope you know that you can still purchase new analog synths. Here is some

With this many modern choices for REAL analog, why do so many people speak 
of analog synths as being something exclusively from the past?

You don't have to choose between an old analog and a new VA synth. You can 
still get a new analog synth! My advice is, don't settle for anything less.
