I can't see any reason for using a PIC, if you are going to have as
many pots as there are variables in the envelope shape.
Because, it is easy enough to design with the pots as active elements.
Where a PIC could be useful, is if you were tryng to use one (or 2)
pots to program N variables. Tedious, but would save panel space,
and ultiately save expense (there is an N where cost of pots & the
hassle of wiring overcomes the PIC problems).
But the more I think of multistage envelopes, the less I want one.
