[sdiy] Wondering about function generators for envelopes

I agree with both of you. I do like ADSR envelopes for a lot of things,
certainly better than the EG on my MG-1! There is a lot you can do with
a simple four stage envelope. I guess that using software EGs has
changed the ways I think about these circuits, like FM7. I have thought
about ROM and hybrid EGs. High-speed analog might be preferable. I am
trying to think ahead to next year, when my panels of EFM and a few
other miscellaneous circuits will be finished. Though I am much the
newbie, I want to plan my next batches of modules to be mostly cv
processors and generators. I am hoping to plan and build some circuits
of my own, and probably some clones like Dark Star and Buchla LPG.
I understand that ADSRs are quite economical circuits, but I am trying
to figure out what EG might be the best for me, if not easiest. This
leads me to the area of function circuits. Guess I've got a lot to
learn!
