(Preface: note that the content of this is intended to point out the
futility of these types of discussions..even when they are on topic :-) )
There are plenty of forums for that sort of thing Jay. But we all get
'touched' whether we like it or not in various off topic contexts by
other things. There gets to be a point where I wonder on one hand...if
the whole world was about to blow up....would people STILL gripe about
it being off topic to discuss it with people they know/love in a forum
such as this? :-)
But... on the other hand, I skimmed some of your text though...and
you sound like a guy who thinks he sees the picture clearly and nobody
else does who doesn't rally to the same thoughts. I say this because
you speak with a lot of presumptuous labels. (calling people
'imperialist' for example who have NOT taken advantage of what they
easily could have justified in their own public's eye like taking enough
oil to at least pay for going over and taking out what was BLATANTLY an
EVIL REGIME...[And please, forget the arguments about how Bush is like
Hitler...so far no gas chambers. No documented acts that would put him
on that level; quite the contrary. He's tolerating the concept that
prisoners who throw piss on the guards have RIGHTS. There's no reason
prisoners should be allowed to act that way. These are people in prison
because they were actively trying to be a danger to citizens of other
countries. They should be made examples of...not the guards. I'm not
aware of any 'rights' they should be given once they cross that line
besides the right to a speedy trial and execution if evidence shows that
indeed they were doing such things.] ..and then they might have created
a public utility situation to benefit the Iraqi people insead of a few
rich leeches! That would have all flown fairly with the vast majority
in the US if presented properly. But ..they didn't even do that!
So...sorry it's a little convoluted to apply the 'imperialist label')
But my thoughts are that there are likely loooottts of things going
on 'behind the scenes' in all governments. Seems to be...a common thing
if you look at the history of mankind :-). WANT TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE???
OR ..just talk about it Jay? Cuz if you really want to make a
difference you are going to have to do it by getting to know people one
on one. As it is I wouldn't trust you any more than the other world
leaders. Because of the presumption you lace your writing with.
PROPOGANDA JAY. It's all just propoganda. Take it away please. I WOULD
NOT GRIPE IN THE LEAST about seeing something actually
documented/informative xposted (like news that the world was blowing up,
etc. :-) ) But to see just another propoganda/ counter-propoganda
propoganda post or whatever... It's boring and I say keep it out of my
face Jay. THanks, -Bob
