Has anyone successfully used an ICL8038 function generating IC (or any variant, like the AD MAX038) to make a VCO? They're not cheap (about $7), but it looks like you could easily make a wide range multiwaveform VCO with really clean output and FM. Is there a catch that I'm not seeing? Thanks, Richard Moore
