The too-many-VCO's syndrome. In the past I've often heard "famous
synthesists" comment on this. I've never had the chance to push the
envelope myself.

The DW-6000/8000 also do this trick. Some patches aren't interesting, some
are incredibly huge. DCO's are great at this sort of thing since the
detuning is rock-steady.
