As far as I know, you will either have to do that, or find someone who 
still supplies parts for old Commodore computers. You can probably find an 
old Commodore computer easier and cheaper than finding someone to sell you 
an old, but unused, replacement chip. Yes, both chips are long out of 
production, as far as I know.
