ucapps.de midibox Sid.. you can find all the details you need there.. it would be modular only in that it has in / out.. i've found the filters on mine sound like crap.. i could try changing the caps i guess.. but that's alot more deconstruction for me versus an external filter of some sort.. nayway.. my .002

Only thing I've fooled with some time back is the Triad Midislave software (funky, fun). Run it on your C64 to play the SID via MIDI. Try going to the URL below and take a gander at the links under Triad Midislave Manager V1.1:
