Hey Doctor,
Both of my FatMan synths have 3 VCOs. They can be pretty thick. I used
two different designs, one is the tri VCO from the LM13600 data sheet,
the other is the Rene Schmidt's 4069 saw VCO. While 2 VCOs sound good,
the phasing pattern is very predictable when you tune them close
together. 3 VCOs make the phasing more interesting. Both of these VCOs
are on my site at http://home1.gte.net/res0658s/fatman/. Sorry, no PCBs,
I built these on stripboard, but the schematics are there.
