Yes james i became avare of this issue since the
posting of the CA3280 took place, i also suspect
that the 3083 are used with the same technology!
Ugh!!

However the devices i have are of Harris make, but
nothing guarrentee that the 3083 are also made out
of "wafer stock".

But there are one thing that dissagree with that
since both Ian and i have seen significant improwement
in the 3083 over various 3045/46 types and i have seen
improwements over a early 3083 from the same maker wich 
could indicate that later 3083 are from a newer tech
used in wafer making, but nothing are guerranteed as it
seams with old beasts!

However i have asked Intersil about this, will post reply later!
