If you think that's funny..I think you're kind of dull. Because nobody
has dealt with the logical thrusts I took time to post. That's how you
technically 'kick people's ass' in an argument. You follow the rules of
logical debate...and you win or lose by posting/failing to post answers
the properly address what has been submitted by the opponent.
In this case...I don't even see an opponent. Harry seems like a nice
guy who just can't figure out that I already dealt with what he keeps
starting to lecture me on. But then he keeps going off on things like
"oh you might damage regulators"... but that's out of the context of
what I clearly posted. I was talking GUITAR TUBE AMPS for a reason.
<150Wrms typically. Caps are not going to blow chunks at you. no
regulators are going to take damage. But I cut Harry slack there because
he has a lot of good contributions on this list and like I say I even
appreciate his initial thought on being more careful with the mixed
audience. I do not see any use though in keeping people in view who
just act belligerent towards me and don't speak constructively nor have
construcitve things to add here often that are in my realm of concern.
So..off with them.
now...Mr. Peasant...

State specifics. You are hand waving. I posted many facts and can
provide documentation for such facts. Would you like some journal
studies that delve into discharge phenomena? Should turn up a boatload
of stuff just on a google search that will substantiate the things I
said there. What specifically did I post as a fact that is non-factual?
OPINIONS LIKE "I look like max smart and Harry looks like JB".
That's a derogatory childish comparison/opinion. If you think so..fine.
But when you post it....I've got no choice but to bookmark you with
people who act like an internet troll child. Sorry. If people want to
look that way, it's up to them. But..this is a tech forum. Hello? We
shouldn't have people that belong in alt.talk.religion carrying on troll
activities here. It's silly. If you think you 'kicked my ass'. Fine.
Be a grown up and keep it to yourself. If you KNOW about some actual
facts like Harry has been talking about (albeit totally out of context
of what I was talking about) then..by all means chip in and join in on
the conversation. But take the childish troll garbage out..please.
HAD THE PERSON SAID "Hey, Bob you didn't answer Harry's reason
having to do with the 'Heisenberg uncertainty arc phenomena'"...you
know where 1 out of every 50 time you discharge a 100uF 450V cap
directly you hit a quantum node intersection and it blows the
screwdriver bit through your skull?"
. See I mean if such a thing existed I'd have to say "oh. I had
never heard about that. Thanks Harry". But you guys don't know my
luck. If the odds were 1:50 it would have happened to me on the first
or second try. :-) I'm serious ...anything having to do with odds. I
routinely drop the last screw as I'm working on something. And it
travels sideways when it hits the floor way more than ever other time
and gets lodged under some distant thing you would never imaging it
would reach. And I've gotten to where when/if I actually find it..I'll
stand there and drop it from the same distance the same way...over...and
over...and over. And it will never ever go half as far as it travelled
to hide under something. I believe it's a spiritual testing of my
patience. The odds are just..too wrong.
But anway, we haven't been talking about that. We've been
talking about primarily the danger (in a tube amp where you actually
need to discharge the caps to make sure you aren't in danger...) of
possibly damaging a stinking 2 or 3 dollar component that is easy to
replace and easy to diagnose failure in. And which..in my experience
I've never seen one fail associated with THIS techs previous work. So
it's really a non-factor to me but always something I'm aware of being a
possibility.

If I say things that are incorrect, my lack of expertise WILL SHOW
RATHER QUICKLY...because I tend to share a lot of technical details that
I have found to be true. If I'm in doubt..I simply don't post OR if
nobody else is posting I post it as a theory if I think it might at
least give people a place to start.. Sorry.. That..was the wrong thing
to say. I've contributed a lot of stuff to this forum already. I've
worked hard on people's gear for many years to gain expertise. I'm not
aware of YOU having any standing to talk like that to me.
Fact is I'm a tech for every major company. I have an outstanding
service record. We all run into things we aren't experts on. I freely
admit things that I'm NOT expert on. I'm waiting for Rainer to offer
any other help on the FZ-1 in here for instance. And someone to help me
figure how to program a cpu for a monopoly. I could pour tons of time
into trying to become an expert on every aspect of a board I'll likely
only see once or twice here....or I can ask another expert. I recommend
people do the same with boards I've dug deeply into..When you work out
the circuit details of the entire blooming thing down to a reasonably
fine level...and you are familiar with the construction details of a
machine (repairing sliders, switches, pulling chips to minimize damage,
etc.)..that makes you...for obsolete old machines like this...somewhat
of an expert. There's no 'self-proclaim' about it. THere's an
information SHORTAGE my friend. And you'd do better to respect other
people's hard work instead of mocking it I'd think.
>it appears would never allow reality get in the way of his beliefs. Maybe
>that's what results from the "it ain't done blown up yet, so its jest fine!"

Oh I did? Gee..I must have missed that part of MY LIFE... I have a BS
from OSU in Sci. Ed. but finished all but one term of a Physics BS by
the time I was done taking other classes as I repaired stuff for the U
of O inst of molecular bio. Then I went to work for myself and life is
my classroom as I repair/design electronics for people on a daily basis
with near 100% success. You..meanwhile presume stupid things about
people. This is the kind of 'troll' behavior I was talking about. I
don't see why this kind of talk is in a tech forum at all. You have been
evaluated and I...don't think you are worth keeping on the active list.
Goodbye. -Bob
