The techniques shown in these books are the basis for what Jarek has done.
Much of the maths and theory will be the same, its only the 'application' of 
these techniques that will differ.

Also, practice is a HUGE part of this, writing a simple oscillator on an AVR 
is a no-brainer, writing a simple EG isn't hard, a 1 pole filter isn't too 
hard, *BUT* putting them alltogether requires patience and practice.
