Roy,
Perhaps you are referring to the old Centralab "mod-u-pot", you could build
ganged pots add infinitum but tracking was awful, the aluminum shafts and
extension (seated in plastic) would wear quickly making this worse in no
time, never built one beyond four sections.
I have pulled dual concentrics out of car stereo's where you can find a
"dual" concentric with a dual audio taper and a back dual linear taper, but
the shaft are very long so you have to seat them "way back" on your board
and use Car Stereo knobs which look a tad funny on a modular (but perhaps
quite hip by today's "bent" standards". Also the value rarely exceed 100k.
regards,
p

The local electronics distributor here used to carry a line of stuff where
you
could basically make up what you wanted out of parts, that would fit
together to suit replacement needs in a wide variety of different equipment.
Since the manufacturers used *so* many different configurations it was
fairly
versatile. You'd pick the pot bodies, snap them together, add a shaft,
add bushings, and so forth. I haven't been there looking for that sort of
thing in a number of years, but it's possible that such stuff is still out
there, if you look...
