The local electronics distributor here used to carry a line of stuff where you 
could basically make up what you wanted out of parts,  that would fit 
together to suit replacement needs in a wide variety of different equipment.  
Since the manufacturers used *so* many different configurations it was fairly 
versatile.  You'd pick the pot bodies,  snap them together,  add a shaft,  
add bushings,  and so forth.  I haven't been there looking for that sort of 
thing in a number of years,  but it's possible that such stuff is still out 
there,  if you look...
