Ah,  but resistors so very seldom go and burn up like that without some 
provocation.  The question in my mind would be *why* did they burn out?

Too bad I'm so far away from you (I'm in PA),  or I'd have a whack at it.  If 
you don't find some other place that'll fix it let's talk about it.  :-)

Only one place I worked at had an HP scope,  but it was a darn good one.  
Right up there with Tek,  just about,  though when I finally did get around 
to getting myself a good one it was a Tek...

That's the thing,  you (most times) need a scope to fix a scope!  Though 
burned resistors doesn't sound like it'd be one of those cases.
