So... what you do is get the service manual first (if possible) and look at
what resistors are burnt.

Scopes are a pain in the @ss to service because they are really tight inside...
often they were cutting edge technology of their day.  OTOH they are usually
built to
BE serviced, not thrown away.

If the tube is good (liiks like it) and you have vertical amps I'd probably look
into
fixing it

Hell, I fixed MY H-P  (twice now :^)
