[sdiy] Test Equipment Repair

So, I pulled out my HP and had a poke at it. No sweep. Beam finder pulls
up the beam and I get vertical if I hook channel A or B to the calibration
point and hold down beam finder. So pop the lid off and sure'nuff some
burned reistors on a board hanging off the sweep control.

So. Question 1, this is an HP 1722A. 275mhz. I see that a 1722B sold on
evilbay for $112. Is it gonna be worth sinking a few hundred into to get it
fixed and calibrated or should I hunt down a good Tek unstead.

Question 2, anyone know a good place in the bay area to get test equipment
repaired? ( SF Bay Area ).

I expect, if the repair is under $300 or so, that my answer to #1 is "Fix
it" as anything cheaper will probably be As Is and I could get something as
bad or worse...
