a) I got one around 1979. I think it cost $99 (about $250 in today dollars). In 
order to read the time, you had to push a button. I can recall running the 
batteries down in <3 weeks. That's when I realized just how often I look at my 
watch (probably every 10min).

b) the TI semi reps all got them, but none had them over 6 months because of the 
battery issue

c) trivia question.......what did TI use to polish the plastic lens of the 
watches (they bought it in 55gal drums at a considerable discount)
