Congratulations Mikael,

I did almost exactly what you are doing now when I bought my first 
oscilloscope. It was a whole day of fun!
Wait till you view the output of a state variable filter in XY mode - 
low pass to scope X input and band pass to scope Y input, VCO to filter 
input. Maybe your daughter will watch. :)

Have fun with your new set of 'eyes' in the electronics world!
I'd say, it's more like 'this rat has freed itself from the trap' :)
