[sdiy] TR-707 hacking

I've started thinking about replacing the processor of my TR-707 with
a modern microcontroller or similiar to make it more flexible. The
reason why I want to hack such old crap is mainly that it's a nice
interface and box, much better than anything I could ever build. Also,
it's MIDI out seems to have died :-(

Instead of reinventing the mod wheel I figured I should ask: has
anybody done this already?
