Something to consider:  small near fields are fine, actually great...IF you
back them up with a subwoofer, which is exactly how most small monitors were
designed to be used.  Without that extended range - forgedda boud'it.  I
don't care what manufactures say, drivers of 4 inches or less are incapable
of accurate response below about 125 HZ, which  equates to the first four
octaves!!!

I say this with some confidence - I used to work for MIller & Kreisel.
