They'll tell you you'd need the most expensive 300B's there are.
If you don't mind using tubes, they're pretty simple to implement. Using
6AQ5A's which are cheap and powerful for their tiny size would be a good
start. And a 100% Class A design would let you actually use a regular power
transformer for the output transformer (but I'd make sure it was really
big). I have designs for pentode pre-amps and twin-triode preamps. (Pieces
of other people's designs cut and pasted to taste.)
