In my experience I've found that PA speakers, home stereo speakers, etc
don't sound "right" on a guitar cabinet. Most guitar speakers seem to be
bandwidth limited (they roll off at the low end and high end), and the full
range speakers have too much crispness for me.

That being said, I have tried a 4x12 cabinet with Celestions in the top and
JBL subwoofers in the bottom and it sounded really good. The high
frequencies sounded right, and the subs added a nice tight lower end.

Maybe you need a 2"x10" cabinet?
