Get yourself a copy of "Audio Power Amplifier Design Handbook" by Douglas
Self (a britt). There is a lot of good info in that book on amplifier
design. As far as MosFets go....well, I would probably not say don't do
it, however you might want to think twice. I have built quite a few Mosfet
amplifiers, including one that would put out about 600 watts (this was to
drive a three phase air bearing spindle motor, not a speaker), and to tell
you the truth, the number of little problems you have to solve to use a
Mosfet, does not seem to justify the results, although, the best sounding
power amp I ever built used Mosfets. The amplifier I am doing right now
though is all BJTs....

Maybe I should see what I can do about locating the circuit for the Mosfet
amplifier...assuming I ever drew one...
