[sdiy] The final cut power amp!

Hi!

In these days of  HD recording in wich im about to enter
i'm looking for a (master mix) monitor amp, not to buy
but to design/build my self, im interested in your ideas 
and suggestions into this venture of mine!

Im not looking for large output powers, but more of "high quality"
at decent levels, (10-50W) since the speakers is merly a metere
away, also it must be very simple because i might do the full 
5:1 surround sound so all power amps has to fit into one tiny
box on the desk.

So to start somewhere i asume at least MOSFET, class A, A-B?
Is there any single chip Mosfet amps worth concider?
Is there any decent public domain designs on the net
as design apethezzer?

Your ideas and toughts most wellcomed!

PS:The last place in the universe i want to visit in this venture
of mine is the corner where the HIFI freaks are located, that would
only end into a big confused "nothing-and-hundreds-of-sugestions"!
