If it's a flying lead, crimp it into a blind wire joiner (The sort that take
both wires in one end, and are sealed at the other), then add your dab of
silcone sealant.

The other aplication for it would be .... eht for another "big tube: :) some
amps include a CRO screen for displaying wiggly patterns for the fun of it.
Look for home made audio ams on the web.

One is. Two and you start having real microphonics problems. The second
12AX7 amplifies all the noises from the first! Don't forget that there are
two stages of amplification in a single 12AX7.
