Yeah I was just reminiscescscing anyway. I didn't want to overlook a blast
from the past though.
Oh I have plenty in the way of cool oscillator chips anyway:
a bunch of 4046's (two are 74HCT4046 - probably going into a wogglebug some
day - maybe not though, I think I might just use plain jane 4064's for the
wogglebug) - one of my all time favorite chips
A nice XR2206 VCO unit (with an op-amp ramp/saw LFO) - also one of my
alltime favorite chips.
4 566's - earmarked for some FM style percussion synths ( I bought out the
only store in town that had them)
6 576's (at least) - I don't know why you don't see much about these in the
synth world. They make a nice VCO and you can find them in all kinds of
phone stuff.
2 565 PLL's - same as above - makes a decent ring modulator too.
5 564 PLL's - this one's iffy, it tends to run hot and need a heat sink. But
I have 5 so I am using all of them to make one single VCO unit. Each chip
will perform a slightly different task though. I want to see how hot it will
get. Not practical, but scrap is beautiful that way.
And then there's all the 4007's, 4009UB's, 4049UB's, 4069UB's. I'm partial
to the 4007 and 4009 though.

Your web site is cool, btw. Looks similar the stuff I do. Especially the
Metasonix thing. I bought it specifically to take it apart and use the box
(the guts were good too). But I thought the little grill made a great window
for a 12AX7 to glow through. I think I'm going to take it out and put
something different in - maybe an 0A2 or 5651 doing nothing or a couple of
6AQ5A's, sideways, doing something really weird.
(I've done some Tim Kaiser-like stuff too. A Victoreen geiger counter does
make a great cabinet.)
ramblin' on...
