Being a legit manufacturer, I bet you could get a sample or two.  I can't remember
which distributor I got mine from, but I recall it was about $15 or so.  Ouch!

While on the subject, Electronic Goldmine has a miniature joystick matrix switch
for $1.99.  I've never ordered one, but I imagine perhaps those proficient at digital
designs may have a use?
