Just to chime in for posterity...

I just got the set installed myself, and I'm amazed at the difference.  It
is *so* much quieter and much more fun to play.  definitely worth the time
it took to install.

Yeah, that's definitely *not* the right slider.  The schematics call for a
1M audio taper.  On my machine I got pratically NO porta with the
replacement slider.  It was too much of a difference for me...  I had to
salvage one of the old 1M sliders that I took out.  I need big porta :)

I'm considering putting the spare 2M slider in for the Contour Fall, so I
can have a NEW 1M in the glide control...  Perhaps I'll give that a go
tomorrow.

Still totally worth it, but I'd have been peeved if I hadn't been able to
salvage the portamento...
