On last year's DIY meeting I had the pleasure to try an Etherwave. I 
didn't find it that hard to hit the right pitches of simple melodies. 
It's more like singing than playing a conventional instrument. You 
don't think in terms of "now I'll play a C, then an E, then a F" like 
you would do while playing a keyboard. It's probably more difficult to 
play sheet music on a Theremin.

Lesson 2 is probably more difficult: separate the movements of the arms 
to control pitch and volume independantly. I didn't try too hard to 
achieve this.
