This place isn't far from me. Early last year I ordered enough of these chips for prototyping and then a small production run after successful breadboarding. The good news is that they arrived the day after I ordered them so unless it was a fluke they ship from stock.

I know of at least two commercial modular designs using these chips. I don't want to name names but I guess it'll be pretty easy to figure out this year.
