You mean like using them for tire traction on icy streets? I think I used a
burnt out opamp once to level a tippy table, does that count?

Hey, I use it for a musical VCO, 9 octaves of nicely linear performance.

The 4007 is really a CMOS transistor array and yes, it can do what half of a
4069UB can do (and then some IMHO). I built a saw to triangle waveshaper
with a 4007. You could build the VCO part of the 4069UB VCO/PWM circuit with
a 4007. In fact, you can build most of a synth with nothing but 4007 ICs (or
4069UB). Some here might be able to do the whole thing. CMOS OTAs don't
seem to work very well though.
