I'm sure like me, you all scavange parts from electronics
junk. Sometimes all you end up with are duds, and maybe
you think hey I wonder if I could use this FM IF chip thingy
in a synth somehow? I mean people use MC1495's all the time.
I keep looking at data sheets for things like "differential video amps"
(hey it has an inverted output too...) and what-not. Like I have
an MC3340 and I think I can use it for a VCA pretty well.
CV leaks through a lot, but it would work in /something/ right?
I suppose there is a point of diminishing returns where the
time spent figuring out uses for junk that really is useless
would be better spent working to buy decent parts or gas
for a road-trip to get more junk (I like that idea better...).
So my point! Does anyone have a few crazy uses for parts
we all thought were junk?
Jetzt heisse ich Der Funkenaasfresser! (Im Aas sielen...)
