The first method that comes to my mind is to use a comparator at the
gat input with the negative rail tied to ground, the positive rail at
+12V or +15V, with 4V at the negative comaprator terminal and connect
your gate in to the positive terminal of the comparator.
I need to make a bunch of these for my modular, too. I've got 7 VCO's,
5 VCF's, 5 VCA's, but only 2 EG's (ouch).

Just messing around with the attached circuit over here.. it seems to =
give a more desirable range when i present 12v on the gate.. how can i =
mod this to accept 5v? =20
i've tried a few experiments with a transistor (which i'm almost =
positive is the answer), but i don't know enough about them to make it =
work.. anyone, anyone?
