There are magazines for electronics (EETimes) and there are things
like Appliance Manufacturer or Medical Device Manufacturer, or
various design (as in industrial design) magazines, but there aren't
really any that focus on what you're asking for. You have to
remember that the magazines for electronic musicians can barely
survive. If you look at the people that design, manufacture and sell
equipment to those people you are talking about a very very small
number. It would be really hard to make a serious professional
magazine and make money.

I do product engineering for a living, and I'd love to see a magazine
that covered that in a reasonable way. Products in general are a
large superset of electronic music equipment, and I with the
exceptions that I noted above, I haven't seen anything that really
comes close.

I have a (free) subscription to EETimes, and I've often wished for a
magazine that just covered electronic components that product
designers specify (connectors, pots, switches, displays, etc). I
don't really want to wade through all the ads and articles on
buck-converters to find a really cool new jog-shuttle control.
