Hi guys,
I was wondering is there is such a chip that can convert linear DC to both log or
rev log DC?

I know TI have this log amp chip TL441 which is the only AFFORDABLE and in DIP
package, somehow these log amps from TI and AD are unbelievably expensive most
are used in RF and telecome comes in SOIC package...

Anyway, I am looking for a 1 chip solution to I can use it with a linear pot at
the input of the chip and get a log or rev log voltage at the output. Anyone
aware of such a chip?

If not, does everyone just use a transistor on the feedback of an op amp and
gound the base to get the log voltage?

I would like to avoid transistors if possible since I always seem to run into
problem with biasing, am more of a no brainer op amp kinda guy......  :(
