Dunno if this qualifies as a neat idea, but two weeks ago I finished my Dual
MS-20 filter (using Rene Schmitz's Late MS-20 design for both blocks).  It's
got the two filters, switchable LP/BP/HP for each one, patch programmable
cascade, parallel, independent mode, inverting and non-inverting controls,
etc.  It rocks.
