I have all of these VST plug-ins that emulate tape echos now I want to build
one of those. I have tons of old tape heads and the amps for them and I even
have an answering message tape loop that I've already fixed up with my
Dremel.
I keep coming up with cool thinsg to add to it too. I'm bummed that the
Panasonic tape deck that I wanted to base it on doesn't work though. Now I
have to use the 'JC Penny' one that has my back-up turntable on it (hee
hee). Oh yeah it's a Panasonic too... I thought of making one of these when
I was a kid but never did. I had no clue that they actually USED them
professionally.
I used to eschew spring reverbs too but now I like those.
And /NOW/ there's the Slinky reverb and I like that too!
(Speaking of which - has anyone tried piezo transducers with those? Think
I'll check out the ELectroni Peasant's web site again.)
Put 'em all together - instant Eno.
I even want to do one of the delta mod things. BBD's really are halfway
there to digital anyway if you think about it.
