I can't remember if I answered this or not, but I'm making something like 
Grant Richter's Space Box Borg Filter.
It's pretty cool. I dunno what the guts are, but I was mostly inspired by 
the way it looked. I'm putting mine in an old 70's acoustic modem case. (I 
need to come up with a good way to paint ABS too.) I really like the way the 
box smells too: plastic ozonide.
