[sdiy] Weird hobby of the week: Chip-collecting!

Believe me Scott, I've watched some of these prices with
astonishment, dismay, and a healthy portion of disgust.
What's frustrating me the most is knowing that I could do better, at
least for some of those BBD's.
Now I know the stuff is "out there". My - well documented - contacts
go back up to 25 years and over the last months I found literally
100's of IC's and other parts that some (me included) would kill for;
or at least the people that aren't as lucky as you and don't have a
first-born to trade. :-)
Unfortunately, supplying obsolete parts for obsolete synths is not
what one could call a commercial enterprise; more an obsessive
objective for an obstinate synth junk. Unless I would start charging
60 quid per hit. :-p
So unless there's enough demand for this old crap to have someone
filling and shipping boxes all day, capital for the usual "minimums",
or re-manufacture, will be just a sugar-sweet dream. Often I wish I
had a relative with manufacturing capabilities in Taiwan or Shanghai,
like someone else we know. :-)
Still, I would love to offer better-priced BBD's. But since I'm still
waiting for some TDA's and SSM's to arrive (and this ex-technician
with the CEM's in his drawer is still waiting to hear from me), the
BBD's will have to take a back seat for at least a few weeks.
In the meantime, feel free to send me your list with most-wanted.
That will move them a notch higher on the priority list. ;-)
