What's with all the name calling?

(1) Some audiophiles have really good ears.

(2) There are also audiophiles who *don't* have too much money. (Sam
Tellig's column used to be titled "The Audiophile Cheapskate.")

People mocked the audiophiles who dumped on the early digital recordings and
CDs. Later, it was agreed that their criticism was warranted.

Don't worry, I'm not feeling personally slighted, but one thing I like about
the SDIY list is its general civility.
