[sdiy] deprogramming needed from audio-DIY

I read a lot of goofy things in audiophile forums. Trouble is I find myself
believing a lot of it. Like certain runs of JRC brand 4558's from the early
80's sound really really good in a headphone amp - better than a regular old
4558 (which I think sounds pretty good for a nice cheap op amp). This is
example is pretty innocuous. But I find myself saying "ooh another JRC op
amp!' to myself (please allow myself to introduce... myself...) when I'm
scrapping stuff.

I was wondering if anyone could share some of the more common ones. Someone
referred to them in the context of jokes earlier - I'm curious.

Happillly enough I seem to have forgotten all the other examples at the
moment.
